Salcombe Harbour Water Taxi

Salcombe Harbour Authority runs a taxi service between Whitestrand pontoon and moored vessels. The area of service extends south to Sunny Cove anchorage, north to the Saltstone anchorage and includes Southpool creek up to the end of the deep water moorings and Batson creek up to the Batson Boat Park. It can be contacted directly by calling ‘Salcombe Harbour Taxi’ on VHF channel 12 or phoning the on-board mobile 07807 643879. Alternatively pop into the harbour office or phone 01548 843791. State clearly yacht name, buoy number/location and number of passengers.

N.B. The harbour staff reserve the right to alter the schedule of normal hours when exceptional or operational circumstances apply, such as during severe weather.

As a service to the public, the harbour taxi will run to and from East Portlemouth on the hour after the East Portlemouth Ferry has finished, at 1900, 2000, 2100 and 2200 providing bookings have been made in advance for trips from the East Portlemouth side. The service to East Portlemouth is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice if the weather conditions deteriorate.

Please ensure that you are issued with and retain a ticket. During busy periods, staff will endeavour to collect passengers as soon as possible.

Out of season, October through April, pre-booking of your taxi is essential and will reduce waiting time.

saving up to 1/3 on individual cost.

Call the Taxi mobile number on 07807 643879 or on VHF Channel 12, they will give you advice on passenger number availability and instructions on how to board and travel with other groups of people.

*the dates/extent of the full taxi shift (including evening hours) will be dependent on operational requirements and weather conditions.
